Alan B. Miller Medical Center is a new 156-bed, state-of-the-art acute care hospital opening in Spring 2026 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Designed to support advanced surgical, oncology, and diagnostic services from day one, the facility offers a unique opportunity to join a growing hospital at launch.

Position Overview

We are seeking a certified Pathologist Assistant to support hospital-based pathology services at Alan B Miller Medical Center. This role offers hands-on grossing responsibilities, collaboration with board-certified AP/CP Pathologists, and participation in a multidisciplinary hospital environment. The ideal candidate brings strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a team-oriented approach to patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Perform gross examination and dissection of surgical pathology specimens
Support frozen sections and specimen adequacy assessments
Manage a mixed surgical pathology caseload (breast, thoracic, GI/GU, GYN, neuro, head & neck, limited hematopathology)
Maintain accurate documentation and comply with quality and safety standards
Collaborate with pathologists, laboratory staff, and surgical teams

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Pathologists’ Assistant program
Certified or eligible for PA(ASCP) through the American Society of Clinical Pathology
Demonstrated experience handling a broad range of surgical pathology specimens in a hospital setting
No autopsy responsibilities
No call requirements

Compensation

Part-Time: $60-$75 per hour
