Location: Bradenton, Florida

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with a Step-Down Unit at a premier healthcare facility in Bradenton, Florida. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to critically ill patients in the ICU and Step-Down Unit, working closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will be comfortable performing procedures, managing complex cases, and using Cerner EMR for patient documentation.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications

Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the ICU and Step-Down Unit, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management.
Perform a variety of medical procedures as required, including but not limited to central line placement, intubation, and arterial line insertion.
Collaborate with intensive care scientists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
Monitor and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress, lab results, and evolving conditions.
Provide patient education and support for patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and care plans.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes using Cerner EMR.
Respond to acute and emergencies in the ICU, including rapid assessments and interventions.
Participate in team rounds, contributing to the development and implementation of patient care strategies.
Maintain up-to-date protocols, procedures, and best practices.

Qualifications:

Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of Florida.
Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
Proficiency with Cerner EMR or similar electronic medical records systems.
Experience in performing invasive procedures required.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and procedural skills.
Must have one year of ICU or Critical care experience post-graduation.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Schedule

Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Rotating shifts with some weekend and holiday availability required.
